Accommodation Recommendations
and Things to Do.
Make the most of your time at The Oki Doki Studio.
The Oki Doki studio is a commuter based school and is unfortunately unable to provide accommodations or meals. Participants typically search on Air B&B in Tivoli or Germantown, NY for closest results. We have had several participants stay in this guest house in Tivoli called The Suminski Innski : https://www.suminskiinnski.com/.
We are also quite close to Gatherwild Ranch: https://www.gatherwild.com/welcome.
Both are less than a 5 minute drive from the studio.
The studio has met the owners and toured this charming Air B&B: Navywood (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/736212981183784137?source_impression_id=p3_1750820485_P3K6C21vx_naQl18). it is about 15-18 minutes from the studio in Gallatin, NY. This potter owned 6 guest house is well suited for groups, and the owners are very kind.
Some participants opt to stay in Air B&B’s in Hudson or Kingston which are both about 18-25 drives from the studio but afford more options for travel companions to adventure and have fun in the Hudson River Valley.
During your workshop there are several cafes and delis locally that are excellent places to grab a quick bite to each for lunch or breakfast if you don't intend on packing your own lunch (we do have a refrigerator in the studio if you need to keep a lunch cold throughout the day). For lunch or a coffee Tivoli General Store is a wonderful cafe run by a former studio assistant of ours, and in Germantown there is Otto's Market which has a full menu of made to order and premade lunches and breakfasts from their deli, as well as hand baked pastries, delightful coffee, and a small grocery.
Hudson, Tivoli, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, and Kingston all have many dining options and are well worth exploring during your time with us.
